Asher and I celebrated a whole year together back in April and I couldn't be happier about that! I haven't been able to see him much this summer but we're making it work. So now its July, we're 15 months in and I thought I'd share a few things I've learned from our relationship.
I have become more aware of how selfish I am and how patiently he puts up with it. He truly has the kindest heart of anyone I have ever met. I don't think I've ever heard him say something mean or hateful about someone. Even when he gets frustrated (which is rare in itself), he's still calm. He's not argumentative in any way.
I've also been learning what it means to completely be myself. Few people bring it out in me other than my family, so when I find those people I know they're something special.
I'm so thankful for him and I look forward to what the future holds for us. With each month that passes, I am more convinced that we're just right together. We're the same in a lot of ways but different too, in all the right places. I am driving up to see him in NC tomorrow night and I can't wait!
